We’ve had some amazing weather lately (the light was so beautiful today, almost magical) and it has affected my mood in a very positive way. I feel so relaxed yet so energised. It’s like someone has sprinkled happy dust all over me while I was asleep and started chanting and dancing around a bonfire and banging drums and… you get the point.

Anyway, I applied to photography at Norwegian School of Creative Studies and to my big surprise I got accepted! It’s exciting and terrifying at the same time. Most of all exciting, though. Now I can’t wait until I get to learn more about what I love.

Maybe it’s a new beginning.

A month ago I bought a new camera and I haven’t used it until now (I know, I know! I feel ashamed). Life’s been busier than usual and my mind has been occupied by so much that I haven’t got the time to go outside and shoot, which is really sad. I hope now that spring’s here I get to take more photos (and put an end to my procrastination). Hey, I can at least go outside without freezing my butt off. Cheers to that.

When the days feel too heavy, I take a walk outside with my camera to think of something else for a little while. To look for the beautiful living things that are surrounding me but not so easy to spot right away. To focus on something better. To hope that everything will work out in the end. Because it has to eventually.

So this other day I had a sudden urge to shoot self-portraits again. The weather was perfect (overcast and misty), and I couldn’t let it go to waste. I ran outside immediately with my camera gear, and after a while I found this spot in between some twigs. On the way I found other places that would be perfect for shooting as well, so I’ll definitely go back there someday soon.
